KPIs are essential performance management tools. However, it is important to appreciate the difference between operational and strategic KPIs, as both are configurable within Corporater BMP and serve different purposes.

Operational KPIs are intended for short-term analysis, whereby performance can be assessed on a weekly or even daily basis. By including these KPIs, Corporater BMP provides strategy measures that allow organisations to verge on real-time performance monitoring of specific projects. These KPIs will provide insights on where systems and resources have either exceeded expectations or fallen behind, allowing executives and managers to take necessary actions and consolidate progress.

Strategic KPIs are concerned with assessing performance over longer timeframes, in order to chart progress towards the realisation of objectives. Provided that a business strategy is properly conceptualised, KPIs of this type will not often change, as the long-term objectives they are intended to achieve will not require frequent revision.

A wide range of period types are configurable for KPIs within Corporater BMP, from the more short-term Day or Week configurations, to the more long-term Month, Quarter, Four Months, Half Year, or Year variants.

Whilst both KPI types are necessary, it is not uncommon to encounter disparities between the measures used by executives vis-à-vis those used in individual offices or stores. Corporater BMP is effective in that it aligns KPIs in order to connect individual tasks to the broader objectives they are intended serve. In doing so, employees are enabled to see how their actions create business impact.
